Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about how SW Capital Advisory works and what business owners can expect.

THE ADVISORY PROCESS

Understand the process before making a capital decision.

Every opportunity is different. These answers explain the general approach, what may be required, and how SW Capital Advisory may be compensated.

01Is SW Capital Advisory a lender?

No. SW Capital Advisory is an independent capital advisory firm. We help business owners evaluate their needs, prepare opportunities, compare financing paths, and coordinate with appropriate capital sources. All financing is provided and approved by third-party lenders or funding sources.

02What types of financing can you help evaluate?

We help evaluate lines of credit, working-capital loans, equipment financing, SBA financing, commercial real estate financing, term loans, asset-based lending, factoring, bridge financing, and private-capital solutions. The appropriate path depends on the business objective, financial profile, timing, available collateral, and expected source of repayment.

03What size businesses and financing requests do you work with?

SW Capital Advisory primarily works with established small and lower-middle-market businesses nationwide. Financing needs may range from approximately $50,000 to more than $5 million. Every opportunity is evaluated individually because revenue, time in business, credit, cash flow, collateral, and the intended use of funds can affect available options.

04Can you help if a bank has already declined my request?

Possibly. A bank decline does not always mean the business has no financing options. The requested product may not have matched the business’s financial profile, collateral, timing, or intended use of funds. We can review the situation and determine whether another structure or capital source may be appropriate.

05What information is needed for an initial capital review?

The initial review begins with a concise description of the business, the amount requested, the intended use of the capital, annual revenue, time in business, and desired timing. Additional financial statements, tax returns, bank statements, debt schedules, or supporting documents may be requested after the initial conversation.

06Will submitting an initial inquiry affect my credit?

No. Submitting the Initial Capital Review does not, by itself, authorize a credit inquiry. If a lender or capital source requires a personal or business credit review, the nature and timing of that inquiry will be discussed before the opportunity is submitted.

07How is SW Capital Advisory compensated?

SW Capital Advisory may receive an advisory fee paid by the client, a fee paid by the lender or capital source, or a combination of the two. The applicable compensation arrangement will be disclosed in the engagement agreement before services begin.

08How quickly can financing be completed?

Timing depends on the type of financing, requested amount, complexity of the opportunity, responsiveness of the parties, and availability of complete documentation. Certain working-capital or equipment-financing transactions may move relatively quickly, while SBA, acquisition, and commercial real estate financing generally require more time. Financing approval and funding timelines cannot be guaranteed.
